Maria joined the NWDS Board as a Director in 2016, she took on the Secretary role in 2022. She is a Carer for 27 years and her son has received support from NWDS since 2011. Maria worked as a Coordinator at Down Syndrome Australia for 6 years. She has and continues to work as a TAFE teacher for Disabilities and Aged Care for 10 years.She is very passionate about supporting carers and empowering students to see the potential in others using a strength based approach.
